Orlando International Airport

Orlando, FL

SPD is collaborating with HNTB to develop the signage and wayfinding master plan for the new South Terminal Complex – Phase 1 at Orlando International Airport (MCO), Florida. The master plan will create a sense of place and reinforce “The Orlando Experience” – a world-class, technologically advanced, passenger-friendly, culturally sensitive and sustainable terminal complex that will accommodate up to 45 million passengers. SPD’s scope of work includes Curbside Roadways, Airside Terminal Building, Landside Terminal Building. Ground Transportation Facility, etc. Additionally, SPD is reviewing current roadway signage and APM/ITF and STC plans in order to improve the signage and enhance the ease of use and comprehension by the airport’s users and audiences. This scope of work includes conducting a nomenclature audit and an analysis of sign types. Our deliverable will be a comprehensive report listing observations and recommendations on circulation, sign types, messaging, and nomenclature.
