Los Angeles, CA

The iconic LAX Gateway has become an icon of the LA experience. Conceived and designed by Selbert Perkins Design in collaboration with the LAX Beautification Team, the landmark gateway features a ring of fifteen illuminated 100′ color-changing columns. The gateway was developed to welcome the world to Los Angeles and as a landmark, represents the energy, diversity, excitement, and unity of LA.

Selbert Perkins Design celebrates 20 years of collaboration with Los Angeles World Airports and LAX. In addition to designing the emblematic LAX Gateway, SPD developed the name, logo, and communications master plan for LAX, alongside numerous projects which have shaped the dramatic LAX brand and environment since 1995.

Additional SPD projects at LAX include the design of signage and wayfinding for the new Tom Bradley International Terminal, Bradley West Terminal improvements; new parking standards; Alaska Airlines Terminal 6 renovation, and the Central Terminal area curbside development.
