Due to the consistent growth and demand for our services, as well as our continued need to design solutions for our clients’ projects, our company needs the professional services of an Environmental Design Project Manager to work with team members for the creation of art assets based on client requests. The Environmental Design Project Manager will help our company drive efficiency and effectiveness throughout the organization while ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of service to our customers. The Environmental Design Project Manager will supervise the work of up to three (3) Junior Designers and Interns.

In a quantitative breakdown, the Environmental Design Project Manager will perform the following duties:

Environmental Design Project Scheduling (60% of the time)

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules for environmental design projects, ensuring all milestones, deliverables, and deadlines are clearly defined.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify critical path activities and potential scheduling conflicts, and implement strategies to mitigate delays.
  • Continuously monitor project progress, identify potential risks to the design and production schedule, and proactively develop contingency plans to keep projects on track.
  • Communicate project timelines and updates to internal teams, clients, and stakeholders regularly, ensuring everyone is aware of the project’s schedule and design milestones.

Environmental Design Project Budgeting (20% of the time)

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, resource allocation, and expense tracking for environmental design initiatives.
  • Work closely with finance and accounting teams to monitor project expenditures, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations for optimizing project spending while maintaining design quality and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and cost analyses for clients and upper management, highlighting budget performance and variance.

Environmental Design Support and Review (20% of the time)

  • Collaborate with design teams to provide technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring design objectives align with project goals and client requirements.
  • Conduct regular design reviews to assess progress, quality, and compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other specialists to ensure interdisciplinary coordination and the successful integration of design elements.
  • Facilitate design-related discussions, resolve design-related issues, and make recommendations for design improvements to enhance project outcomes

Minimum Requirements:               

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or another closely-related field.
  • 2 years of work experience providing project support for environmental graphics design projects.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop
