Selbert Perkins Design (SPD) has an immediate opening for an Environmental Graphic Designer. You will work with a team of Partners, Principals, Design Directors, CADD Managers, and Graphic Designers to develop projects for aviation, rail, healthcare, retail, and hospitality wayfinding.
Responsibilities:
Design
- Participation in all efforts related to research & analysis, strategy & concept development, documentation, and implementation.
- Preparation of presentation materials and participation in milestone & periodic meetings with ownership & consultant teams.
- Preparation of electronic and final art files including templates for fabricator and design team usage.
- Participate and review shop drawings, materials/color samples, mockup and punch list reviews, and all matters related to the construction administration phase.
Project Administration
- Assist with project management in support of the project director or whenever necessary and appropriate including taking and distributing meeting notes and coordinating project schedules.
- Assist with production management including writing specifications, soliciting & reviewing vendor bids.
- Design administration including filing, maintenance of project folders, and preparation of storage files.
- Assist with coordination/supervision of other team members or support staff.
Marketing / Business Development
- Identifying out-of-scope efforts and alerting the project director & marketing team to develop additional service requests.
- Support new business functions as required including assistance with research, proposal, and presentation development.
- Assessing and sharing new business development opportunities with existing clients with the marketing team
Client Services
- Verbal and written communications, information research, and tasks on behalf of the client/project needs as deemed appropriate by the project director.
- Serving as client contact where deemed appropriate by the project director.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or other related field.
- 2+ years of professional experience with planning, documenting, and management of environmental graphics, branded environment, placemaking, and wayfinding projects.
- General familiarity and experience with phases of work from concept through construction administration.
- General understanding of code requirements related to aspects of wayfinding signage.
- Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects in a fast-pace working environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and CAD tools).
