A new landmark is rising at the official entrance to Downtown Las Vegas, across Las Vegas Blvd. between St. Louis and Bob Stupak avenues.
The Las Vegas Gateway Archway is nearly completely constructed and at the time of this writing, we are watching YESCO installers add all of the light bulb globes along the legs of the arches.
The arches are a part of a continued effort to update infrastructure and signage around downtown Las Vegas. Selbert Perkins Design presented the final design concept in 2017 along with various less expensive options and additional features. In 2018, Mayor Carolyn Goodman approved the final design and YESCO was awarded the bid to fabricate and install the structure.
Work on the $6.5 million, 80-foot-tall arches began in March and is expected to be completed in October.
