Experiential Graphic Designer (Environmental Graphic Designer)

Our Boston office is looking for a Designer to add to our team of partners, principals, design directors, and graphic designers in developing our branding, placemaking, wayfinding, and digital experience projects for academic campuses, healthcare facilities, mixed-use developments, entertainment districts, corporate offices, and municipal improvement projects. A senior position may be available for the right candidate.


  • A minimum of 3 years of design experience
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in architecture, industrial, or construction industries
  • Ability to read architectural construction documents and shop drawings
  • Knowledge about products, materials, production methods, fabrication, and installation
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and Microsoft Office (or willingness to learn)
  • CAD and 3D experience is a plus, but not required (our office uses SketchUp)
  • Although predominately remote, must be local to the Boston area and able to drive to site visits as required
  • Superior verbal and written skills

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Work alongside design directors and senior designers to conduct research and analyses on each project 
  • Assist with preparing presentation materials. Concept Development – image research, sketching, modeling, etc.
  • Developing drawing packages for submissions. Design Detailing – advanced 2D elevations, plans, sections, fabrication intent, material spec’s, basic 3D modeling
  • Travel for meetings, presentations, and site visits throughout the duration of a project

Project Administration

  • Assist with project management in the absence of a project/design director or when appropriate
  • Design administration, including filing, preparation of storage files, and taking meeting notes where appropriate
  • Production management and schedule estimating
  • Soliciting vendor estimates
  • Assist with client administration, including file delivery, and preparing meetings notes
  • Prepare and help maintain digital files, including templates and technical drawings

Client Services

  • Verbal and written communication with the client and representatives
  • Information research, and graphic-related tasks on behalf of the client
  • Responding to client communications promptly
  • Serving as client contact when necessar
